Leaning Crown is an original ink drawing of a tree in Victoria Park, London, drawn directly onto a hand-cast cement tile by Birmingham artist Warren Garland (Warren Drawing Trees).
The tree is defined by tension and balance, its rounded canopy a dense mass of looping line, the trunk tilting deliberately on a subtle diagonal as though shaped by years of wind. It appears braced yet steady. Victoria Park is one of East London’s oldest and most beloved open spaces, and this tree was drawn on location, observed and recorded in the way the park’s old growth demands: slowly, with attention.
Part of an ongoing body of urban tree studies made on location across Birmingham and London, this is a one-of-a-kind original, not a print or reproduction. The ink is permanent and archival; the cement carries its own natural tonal variations and surface character, ensuring no two tiles are identical.
Framed in a bespoke wooden frame and presented in a custom box, it is ready to collect or give.
