A4 Lickey Pine – Original Handmade Cyanotype

An original handmade A4 cyanotype created from my own photograph of a solitary pine at Lickey Hills, near Birmingham. The open composition draws attention to the tree’s tall trunk, exposed branches and irregular crown.

The work combines digital photography with the historic cyanotype process, developed in the 1840s. The paper is hand-coated, exposed under ultraviolet light and developed in water, producing its distinctive Prussian blue tones. Natural variations in colour, texture and brush marks make every print unique.
