An original hand-printed cyanotype of a street tree in Moseley, Birmingham, by Birmingham artist Warren Garland (Warren Drawing Trees).
This is your arboreal neighbour — the tree on the street corner that waves you off in the morning and welcomes you home at night. No drama, no fuss, just a presence. Reliable, rooted, and quietly magnificent. Rendered in deep Prussian blue with crisp white linework, the cyanotype process captures both the solitude and subtle companionship of this particular tree, encountered and observed on location in Moseley.
Moseley is one of Birmingham’s most distinctive inner-city neighbourhoods — Victorian streets, independent character, and a strong sense of local identity. This tree is part of that fabric.
Made using traditional cyanotype techniques, brushed and exposed by hand onto 300gsm watercolour paper. Slight variations in tone, brushstroke, and edge are part of the process and make every piece entirely unique. No two are ever the same.
