Barber Institute Tree is a framed limited edition A5 giclée print reproduced from my original ink drawing of a tree growing beside the Barber Institute of Fine Arts in Birmingham.

The Barber Institute is one of Britain’s finest examples of 1930s architecture, its elegant Portland stone façade reflecting balance, proportion and permanence. Standing nearby, this tree seems to answer that architecture with a quiet strength of its own. Leaning heavily to one side yet remaining firmly rooted, it has found its own balance through years of growth.

Observed on location and drawn slowly in fine black ink, the piece explores resilience, movement and poise. Every line was built by hand, creating a drawing that rewards close viewing with thousands of individual pen marks.

This edition is professionally presented in a light wood frame with a soft grey mount, giving the artwork a clean, contemporary finish that complements both modern and traditional interiors. Ready to hang, it makes an ideal gift for tree lovers, architecture enthusiasts and collectors of original British art.

Printed on 308gsm Hahnemühle Photo Rag (100% cotton) using museum-quality archival pigment inks, every print faithfully reproduces the crisp linework and subtle tonal depth of the original drawing.

Each print is signed, titled and hand-numbered by the artist as part of a limited edition of 200.
