Hackney Downs is a limited edition A3 giclée print by UK artist Warren Garland, based on an original ink drawing of a young, slightly stranded tree just opposite Hackney Downs station. Once framed by a garden wall, it now stands awkwardly in a sea of paving bricks—like a green punctuation mark in a sentence that no longer makes sense.
Printed on 308gsm Hahnemühle Photo Rag using archival pigment inks, this fine art print captures the quiet precision and humour of the original drawing. Each print is signed, titled, and numbered on the front, with a signature on the reverse.

This is a portrait of urban disorientation: a small tree left behind by a disappearing landscape. Its wall is gone, its garden paved, and it now survives between two driveways—possibly despite some very questionable parking. Hackney Downs captures that curious mix of hope, loss, and resilience that only city trees know.
Ideal for lovers of overlooked spaces, environmental stories, and delicate drawing with a dose of dry wit.
