Globe Town is a limited edition A3 giclée print created from an original ink drawing of a large weeping silver birch on the Rogers Estate, Globe Town, Bethnal Green, East London, by Birmingham artist Warren Garland (Warren Drawing Trees).
The tree feels both exposed and defiant — its cascading canopy hanging heavy with line, the trunk standing upright and alert in an uncompromising urban setting. Built slowly in fine black ink, the drawing layers mark upon mark to capture movement, tension, and weight. From a distance the form appears soft and organic; up close it reveals a restless network of individual strokes.
At A3 scale the composition gains greater impact, the density of line and subtle tonal shifts opening up to give the piece a confident hold on the wall. Printed on museum-grade Hahnemühle Photo Rag 308gsm using archival pigment inks, each print preserves the depth and delicacy of the original drawing.
Part of an ongoing body of urban tree studies made on location across London and Birmingham by Warren Garland, this print is from a strictly limited edition of 25 — signed, titled, and hand-numbered by the artist.
