This cyanotype features the same leaning tree captured in the original Barber drawing, now reimagined in deep indigo blue using the cyanotype process. The tree’s distinct tilt and delicate branching remain, but here they emerge in reverse — white forms against the rich blue of sun-exposed paper.
The print was made by placing a transparent ink drawing directly onto sensitised paper and exposing it to sunlight. Every brushstroke of the coating and moment of exposure contributes to the unique feel of the image — no two prints are ever the same.
