Rubery Park, Ink Drawing on Hand-Casted Cement Tile

You’ll find this tree in Rubery Park. This is quite an unusual place, located in the far southwest of Birmingham and overlooked by Beacon Hill. It was here that I spent some of my formative years—smoking cigarettes under the slide, playing epic football matches until the sun went down, and trying to act cool when girls were around. I miss those days, and it feels strange being here after all this time. I still get a little bit of excitement in my belly when I recognise a part of the park that’s still the same as it was back then.
