Unique hand drawn with light fast inks on 5 cm x 5 cm hand cast snow cement tile.

You’ll find this weeping silver birch tree in Birmingham’s Gun Quarter. Here gun making started in the mid 1600 and supplied small arms for most of the British colonial, imperialistic and commercial exploits up until the second world war. All bar one gun maker has left the area and now this place is just a collection of ramshackled factory units, student accommodation and construction sites offering the complete lifestyle package to those who can afford to purchase an apartment.
Situated here is also a large collection of night shelters for Birmingham’s homeless. So most corners you turn and enclaves you pass you’ll find someone huddled in a ball trying to sleep or asking for money to buy what they need.
Im not sure how this fits into the “complete lifestyle” but I’m sure the lifestyle will win, it always does.

Shown a part of an exhibition in Athens.
