victoria-park-london-original-ink-drawing-on-hand-cast-cement-tile
Victoria Park, London – Original Ink Drawing on Hand-Cast Cement Tile

An original ink drawing of a tree in Victoria Park, London, its thick trunk supporting a wide canopy of drooping branches and trailing foliage.

The tree has a strong, almost sculptural presence. Its trunk rises solidly from the ground before opening into a broad crown, with long hanging growth falling from each side. The drawing captures this distinctive form through fine, repeated ink lines, balancing delicacy with the weight of the tree’s structure.

Drawn directly onto a hand-cast Portland cement tile, with colour pigments incorporated into the cement mixture, the fine black ink lines contrast with the solidity of the material. Soft variations of pale blue and warm cream move across the surface, creating a subtle background unique to this particular casting.

Presented in a dark wooden frame, the piece brings together the organic rhythm of the tree with the rigid geometry of the cement tile and frame. The result is a small, self-contained original artwork that combines close observation with an interest in material process.

Part of an ongoing body of work exploring individual trees, the places they inhabit and their relationship to the built environment. Each drawing records a specific tree in a particular location, paying attention to character, form and the quiet details that often go unnoticed.

This is a one-of-a-kind original artwork, not a print or reproduction.

Details

Original ink drawing on hand-cast Portland cement tile

Colour pigments incorporated into the cement mixture

Location: Victoria Park, London

Tile size: approximately 10cm × 10cm

Dark wooden frame

One-of-a-kind original artwork

Signed by the artist

Handmade in the UK

Collecting Original Tree Drawings | Cement Tile Art Guide

How Cement Tile Art Is Made

Choosing Art as a Gift

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0854/7909/6648/files/FullSizeRender_c2efd4bc-6d70-4330-abf9-c260afb42312.jpg?v=1792760614
https://warrendrawingtrees.com/products/victoria-park-london-original-ink-drawing-on-hand-cast-cement-tile
